AirAsia Strengthens Suvarnabhumi to Esan Connectivity with Udon Thani and Khon Kaen Routes Fly On-Time with Greater Choice, Value and Convenience with AirAsia

BANGKOK, 3rd February 2025 - AirAsia is enhancing its domestic services from Suvarnabhumi Airport with the launch of two new routes: Suvarnabhumi to Udon Thani (twice daily) and Suvarnabhumi to Khon Kaen (once daily).

These new services join the carrier’s existing routes from the Suvarnabhumi hub, which include six daily flights to Chiang Mai, four daily flights to Phuket, two daily flights to Krabi, and two daily flights to Hat Yai.

This expansion reinforces Suvarnabhumi Airport as a central hub for seamless connections to more international flights and underscores AirAsia’s reputation for excellent on-time performance, ranked as the best in Thailand and among the Top five in the Asia Pacific region for on-time performance by Cirium.

Mr. Santisuk Klongchaiya, CEO of Thai AirAsia, highlighted the robust growth of the domestic market and the airline’s strategic response to this demand.

“The domestic market has continued to grow rapidly, following the strong momentum from last year. In response, AirAsia has planned additional routes from both Don Mueang Airport (DMK) and Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK), with a particular focus on Suvarnabhumi’s strategic advantage in offering convenient connections to more international flights,” said Mr. Santisuk.

“Last year, Thai AirAsia achieved a historic domestic market share of 40% and maintained a high load factor of 93%. We are expanding our Airbus fleet at Suvarnabhumi Airport to a total of four aircraft this February, with plans to reach six aircraft by the end of the year. This growth will allow us to increase flight frequencies and introduce more domestic routes. Our goal is to become the airline with the most domestic routes from Suvarnabhumi Airport,” Mr. Santisuk added.

To celebrate the launch of the new routes, AirAsia is offering a special promotion with fares starting at just 890 THB* per trip for flights to Udon Thani and Khon Kaen. Bookings are available from today until 28 February 2025 via AirAsia MOVE or the official website {oairasia.com, for travel starting from 1 February 2025.

Marking the inaugural flights of Suvarnabhumi-Udon Thani and Suvarnabhumi-Khon Kaen on 1 February 2025, AirAsia joined hands with Suvarnabhumi Airport, Udon Thani Airport, Khon Kaen Airport, the Tourism Authority of Thailand, and public and private partners to celebrate and welcome guests on the first flights with commemorative souvenirs, reflecting AirAsia’s commitment to providing convenient and memorable travel experiences from both Don Mueang and Suvarnabhumi airports.
