Indonesia Domestic and International Travel Requirements During COVID-19 Period

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS - INDONESIA 


DOMESTIC

Starting 29th August 2022, domestic travelers must adhere to the following travel requirement:

  • Unvaccinated traveler due to health conditions must present a letter from a Government Hospital

  • Domestic travelers must fill out an electronic health awareness card (e-HAC) in the SATUSEHAT app prior to departure.

  • Travelers fulfilling the requirements above are no longer required to present antigen or PCR test results

INTERNATIONAL

TO INDONESIA

Free Visit Visa for Tourism Purposes

  1. Eligible for passport holders from ASEAN countries, i.e : (1) Brunei Darussalam, (2) Philippines, (3) Cambodia, (4) Laos, (5) Malaysia, (6) Myanmar, (7) Singapore, (8) Thailand, and (9) Vietnam.

  2. Includes a Visit Stay Permit for a maximum of 30 (thirty) days and non-extendable.

  3. Valid passport with a minimum validity period of 6 (six) months.

  4. Return ticket or onward ticket to another country.

  5. Eligible for foreigners visiting Indonesia for tourism purposes or for government duties related to international activities of a state or government nature.

  6. For government duty purposes, please provide an invitation letter to attend conferences/conventions/meetings issued by Ministries/Institutions/Agencies of the Republic of Indonesia.

  7. Foreigners can exit from any Immigration Checkpoints.


Visa on Arrival (VoA) for Tourism Purpose

  1.   3. For government duty purposes, please provide an invitation letter to attend conferences/conventions/meetings issued by Ministries/Institutions/Agencies of the Republic of Indonesia.

  4. Visa on Arrival carries a Visit Stay Permit with a maximum period of 30 (thirty) days which can be extended for a maximum of 1 (one) extension for a period of 30 (thirty) days at the Immigration Office in the area of residence and is not transferable, 

  5. Foreigners can exit from any Immigration Checkpoints,

  6. The applicable tariff for Visa on Arrival is Rp500.000,-

  7. Valid passport with a minimum validity period of 6 (six) months.

  8. Return ticket or onward ticket to another country.

  9. Other required documents in accordance with the Covid-19 Task Force regulations.

Arrival in Indonesia from Overseas For Indonesian Citizens / Foreigners

Document Requirements

  1. Travelers entering Indonesia are required to use the SATUSEHAT application by first downloading the application before departure.

  2. Present proof of Covid-19 vaccination in a form of card/certificate (physical or digital) of minimum second dose taken at least 14 (fourteen) days before departure written in English, in addition to the language of the country of origin. 

  3. The obligation to show a Covid-19 vaccination card/certificate as referred to in number 2 is exempted for:

    • Travelers under 18 years old;

    • Travelers with special health conditions or comorbid diseases that cause travelers unable to receive vaccines. Please present a doctor's certificate from the Government Hospital of the country of departure stating that the person has not and/or cannot receive the Covid-19 vaccine;

    • Travelers who have finished carrying out Covid-19 isolation/treatment and have been declared inactive in transmitting Covid-19 but have not been able to get the second dose of vaccination. Please present a doctor's certificate from the Government Hospital of the country of departure or the ministry that carries out government affairs in the health sector in the country of departure which states that the person is no longer actively transmitting the Covid-19 or Covid-19 recovery certificate;

    • Foreigners holding diplomatic visas and service visas related to official/state visits of foreign officials at ministerial level and above and foreigners who enter Indonesia under the Travel Corridor Arrangement scheme, in accordance with the principle of reciprocity while still implementing strict health protocols; and

    • Foreigners who have not received the vaccine and intend to travel domestically in order to continue their journey with international flights out of Indonesian territory, are allowed not to show their Covid-19 vaccination card/certificate as long as they do not leave the airport area during transit waiting for international flights to be followed, with requirements:

      • Has been permitted by the local Port Health Office (KKP) to travel domestically in order to continue the journey with international flights out of the territory of Indonesia; and

      • Present a flight ticket from the departure city to an international airport in the territory of Indonesia with direct transit to the final destination country outside of Indonesia. 

Covid-19 Protocol at Entry Point

  1. Travelers are required to undergo inspection of documents upon arrival in Indonesia.

  2. After checking the documents, travelers are required to undergo a symptom check related to Covid-19 including body temperature.

  3. Travelers with symptoms related to Covid-19 and/or have a body temperature above 37.5 degrees Celsius, must undergo an RT-PCR examination.

  4. Travelers without symptoms related to Covid-19 and have a body temperature below 37.5 degrees Celsius, are allowed to continue the journey and are recommended to carry out independent health monitoring of Covid-19 symptoms for 14 days by implementing strict health protocols.

  5. During RT-PCR examination as referred to in number 3, is allowed to continue the journey after taking the RT-PCR confirmation examination sample and must comply with the following provisions:

    • waiting for the results of the RT-PCR confirmation examination in hotel rooms, lodging rooms, or residences; and

    • are not allowed to leave hotel rooms, lodging rooms, or residences and are not allowed to interact with other people before the results of the RT-PCR examination show negative results.

  6. In the event that the RT-PCR confirmation examination as referred to in number 3 shows a positive result, the PPLN shall be isolated/treated in accordance with the follow-up mechanism for the positive case.

  7. In the event that the RT-PCR confirmation examination as referred to in number 3 shows a negative result, the PPLN is allowed to continue the journey and it is recommended to carry out independent health monitoring of Covid-19 symptoms for 14 days by implementing strict health protocols.

Positive Case Follow-up Mechanism and Isolation/Treatment

  1. Travelers with positive RT-PCR confirmation examination results without symptoms or experiencing mild symptoms are required to carry out isolation/treatment in isolated hotels or centralized isolation facilities set by the government or self-isolate in 8 residences with isolation/treatment times as recommended by the Ministry of Health.

  2. Travelers with positive RT-PCR confirmation examination results with moderate or severe symptoms and/or with uncontrolled comorbidities, will be isolated/treated at a Covid-19 referral hospital with isolation/treatment time according to recommendations from doctors and recommendations from the Ministry of the Ministry of Health.

Vaccinations for Overseas Travelers

  1. Indonesian citizens traveling from overseas who have not received the Covid-19 vaccination, either the first dose, the second dose or the third dose are required to undergo vaccination at the entry point for overseas travel after a symptom check is carried out.

  2. Foreigners who are already in Indonesia and will travel, both domestically and internationally, are required to undergo vaccination through a program or mutual cooperation scheme in accordance with the provisions of the legislation.

Traveling to Overseas for Indonesian Citizens

Citizens aged 18 years and over who will travel abroad from Indonesia are required to show a  third dose (booster) of Covid-19 vaccine card/certificate (physical or digital) which is shown through the SATUSEHAT application.

The obligation to show a card/certificate are exempted for Indonesian citizens with the following conditions:

  • Indonesian citizens with special health conditions or comorbid diseases that cause travelers unable to receive vaccines. Please present a doctor's certificate from a Government Hospital stating that the person has not and/or cannot receive the Covid-19 vaccine; or

  • Indonesian citizens who have finished carrying out Covid-19 isolation/treatment and have been declared inactive to transmit Covid-19 but have not been able to get a third dose of vaccination (booster). Please present a doctor's certificate from the Government Hospital or Ministry of Health stating that the person concerned is no longer actively transmitting Covid-19 or a Covid-19 recovery certificate.

NOTICE FROM THE DIRECTORATE GENERAL OF CUSTOM & EXCISE, MINISTRY OF FINANCE OF THE REPUBLIC OF INDONESIA 

  • Indonesian and foreigner carrying cellular telecommunication device (mobile phone, tablet, etc) purchased from outside of Indonesia are advised to register the device’s IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) number at origin country before departure to Indonesia through https://www.beacukai.go.id/register-imei.html

FLIGHT SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

Your health and safety is always our top priority. To ensure that the highest standards of safety and hygiene are maintained at all times, here are some of the safety measures AirAsia is taking on the ground and in the air:

  • Wear a face mask at all times

    All guests are required to bring and wear their own facemasks (covering mouth and nose) before, during and after the flight, including during check in and bag collection. Guests without a mask will be denied boarding. Only 3-ply cloth face masks or medical masks are allowed.

  • Temperature screening

    Temperature screening will take place at different checkpoints, including boarding gates. Cabin crew will also go through temperature checks after every shift.

  • Social distancing

    Social distancing will be observed with floor markers at queuing areas, including check-in counters & kiosks. And another safety precaution will be alternate check-in counters to ensure sufficient distance, and we are also working to have contactless check-in processes as well. 

  • Web or mobile check-in and early arrival at the airport

    Web or mobile check-in to reduce surface and physical contact in check-in and boarding processes. In addition, please arrive early at the airport - preferably 3 hours before departure - to allow for enough time for all the necessary processes to take place. Check-in kiosks and manual check in counters are still available.

  • Cabin baggage policy
    Guests are allowed two (2) pieces of cabin baggage not exceeding a total of 7kg in weight.
    Guests will be able to carry one (1) cabin bag not exceeding the dimensions of 56cm (H) x 36cm (W) x 23cm (D) or maximum linear of 115cm and that fits in the overhead storage compartment in the aircraft cabin, AND one (1) laptop bag or one (1) small bag not exceeding the dimensions of 40cm (H) x 30cm (W) x 23cm (D) or maximum linear of 80cm and that fits under the seat in front of you.     Luggage with more than the permitted cabin baggage limits must be checked in.

  • Pre-book your hot meals online

    Inflight hot meals are now available for purchase onboard. You can also pre-book your meals by logging into My Bookings at least 24 hours before your flight departure time.

  • Aircraft cleaning

    All of our aircraft go through regular disinfection procedures, which have been ramped up and enhanced in light of what we’re facing right now.

    The cleaning, sanitising and disinfecting products that we use to clean our aircraft are all approved by the Public Health Authority as well as the aircraft manufacturer, which is Airbus in our case. All of our aircraft use HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Arresters) aircraft filtration system which filters 99.9% of dust particles and airborne contaminants such as viruses and bacteria.
