Travel Advisory : Thai AirAsia X (XJ) Suspends Bangkok-Brisbane Route

BANGKOK, 11 March 2020 - Thai AirAsia X (XJ) will suspend its service between Brisbane and Bangkok effective 7 April 2020 as part of its route rationalisation initiative in response to the Covid-19 outbreak.

Affected guests will be offered the following options to alleviate any inconvenience:

1. Move flight: Change to a new travel date on the same route prior to route suspension on 6 April 2020 without any additional cost and subject to seat availability; OR

2. Reroute:  One time reroute to alternative destination Gold Coast (operated by AirAsia X Malaysia, airline code D7) via Kuala Lumpur (KUL), within 30 calendar days of the original travel date without any additional cost and subject to seat availability. 

3. Credit account: Retain the value of your booking in a Credit Account linked with your BIG member account for future travel with AirAsia. A valid BIG member account is mandatory for Credit Account option and it can be redeemed within 90 calendar days from the date of issue; OR

4. Full refund: Obtain a full refund in the amount equivalent to the original booking.

Affected guests will be notified directly via their registered member email account, as well as via an SMS notification. AirAsia strongly encourages all guests to keep their email addresses and mobile numbers with their country code prefix updated in their AirAsia member profiles at Manage My Booking via airasia.com to ensure they are contactable for further assistance.

The above options are applicable for direct online bookings made via airasia.com only. For other types of bookings, such as those made through travel agents, kindly refer to your respective booking channel for further assistance.
