AirAsia X lands at iconic Laneway Festivals in Melbourne & Perth
AUSTRALIA, 15 February 2025 - AirAsia X is taking the much anticipated Laneway Festivals in Melbourne and Perth to new heights this year with its AirAsia Mini Mart activation featuring games, entertainment and flight giveaways for festival goers.
After yesterday’s sold out event in Melbourne at Flemington Park, AirAsia is set to land in Perth tomorrow, Sunday 16 February at Wellington Square, with another lineup of some of the globe's most exciting live music and entertainment artists to a sell out crowd including headline acts Charli, 2hollis, Barry Can’t Swim, Djo, Joey Valence & Brae, Hamdi, Olivia Dean and many more.
Benyamin Ismail, CEO of AirAsia X, said the airline was thrilled to partner with one of Australia’s leading music festival events.
“Australia is one of our core markets. Last year we flew over a million Australians to their favourite destinations across Asia and beyond. As a world leading low cost carrier, the opportunity to participate in Melbourne and Perth’s Laneway Festivals is a great way to showcase our brand, network and destinations to the many thousands of festival goers which are amongst one of our key target market segments.
“There are many synergies - similar to Laneway, our brand is also about providing fun, entertainment and new experiences and we’re sure our games and major prizes at the events, including the chance to win flights to eight destinations across Asia will prove very popular.
“The partnership is about showcasing the fun side of our brand, reaching new audiences who may not have heard or flown with AirAsia and highlighting new destinations that many may not have even heard of. Travel is still high on the list for most people including Gen Z despite the economy and AirAsia is here to enable affordable travel to well known and less well known destinations.”
AirAsia X operates services from Sydney, Melbourne and Perth direct to its main hub in Kuala Lumpur, where guests can connect to over 130 destinations on the AirAsia network like Bali, Phuket, Chiang Mai, Kuala Lumpur, Jaipur, Nairobi, Manila, Ho Chi Minh City, Tawau, Labuan Bajo, Kota Kinabalu and many more. Featuring lie flat Premium Flatbeds, a child free Quiet Zone as well as economy seating, the airline was this week awarded the World’s Best Low Cost Carrier 2025 by the Australian based aviation experts at AirlineRatings.com.
Indonesia AirAsia operates services from Perth and Cairns to Bali with new services from Darwin to Bali launching in March.
