AirAsia celebrates Chinese New Year with a special send off for its fixed fare flights

SEPANG, 27 January 2025 - AirAsia is delighted to celebrate the upcoming Chinese New Year with a special send off for its fixed fare flights. Flight AK 9155 departed on 24 January 2025 from Kuala Lumpur to Kuching.

The send off ceremony led by Datuk Captain Chester Voo, Deputy CEO (Airline Operations) of AirAsia Aviation Group, departed Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 2 at 10:20PM on Friday (24 January) with an impressive 100 per cent passenger load and arrived safely in Kuching at 12:10AM past midnight.

Prior to the late night send off, AirAsia also hosted a special CNY activation at KLIA Terminal 2, attended by Dato’ Fam Lee Ee, Chairman of AirAsia X. Guests in the departure hall were entertained by AirAsia’s vibrant Fun Team and treated to festive giveaways, including fortune cookies and mandarin oranges. To add to the celebration, AirAsia also gave away free flights and duty-free items, creating a joyous and prosperous atmosphere for the Year of the Snake.

Guests travelling this festive season are strongly encouraged to self check-in via airasia.com or the AirAsia MOVE app, available from 14 days prior to the departure date and use the e-Boarding Pass to board the flight. For a smooth and seamless travel experience, guests are advised to arrive early at the airport. Baggage drop counters open three (3) hours before departure for international flights, and two (2) hours prior for domestic services.
