AirAsia Thailand pilots routes to China and Hong Kong SAR
Indicating strong readiness to attract tourists to its Thai network
Hong Kong, 30 June, 2022- AirAsia Thailand (flight code FD) is launching direct flights to China and Hong Kong with close adherence to all travel policies. Hong Kong-Bangkok Don Mueang will begin with a weekly flight starting 7 August before increasing to twice and thrice weekly in September and October 2022 respectively.
Hong Kong - Bangkok Don Mueang route is now open for sale on airasia Super App for travel between 7 August to 8 December 2022, starting from HKD848 (all-in-fare one way) on every Sunday. From Bangkok, travelers can connect to all regions via AirAsia’s expansive domestic network in Thailand, including Phuket, Chiang Mai, Krabi and more.
A pilot roundtrip flight between Guangzhou and Bangkok Don Mueang will also be launched this 13 July with tickets to Thailand available on the airasia Super App. The flight is being carried out to demonstrate the carrier’s readiness to serve routes to and from China as soon as the government announces the country’s official reopening.

Note: Effective 1 July 2022, Thailand Pass registration scheme and an US$10,000 health insurance requirement for foreign visitors will be removed for all travelers to Thailand. Fully vaccinated travelers will only need to show a certificate of vaccination or for Non-vaccinated travelers to show proof of a negative RT-PCR or professional ATK test result within 72 hours of travel. Please check the conditions and requirements imposed by the authorities before departing. The Don Mueang-Guangzhou flight will be subject to a policy by the China government, which has allotted a limited entry quota to Thai airlines.
