AirAsia Philippines increases flight frequency, opens more international routes to sustain travel demand during “Ber” months
*Seoul, Osaka, Bangkok, Taipei and Singapore remain preferred international destinations among Filipinos
Manila, 4 October 2022 – AirAsia Philippines welcomes October with a huge success during the recent Philippine Travel Mart event held over the weekend.
The World’s Best Low-Cost Airline ended September with an average of 85% passenger load for both domestic and international travel, and increased prospective bookings for the “Ber” months, dubbed as the longest holiday celebration in the Philippines.
AirAsia projects a steady growth in flight bookings especially with more international borders now opening with eased restrictions and convenience in travel requirements.
Top domestic destinations booked by Filipino travelers for Q4 2022 include Caticlan passenger load; Tagbilaran with 60%; Tacloban with 55%; Puerto Princesa with 50% and Cebu with 40%.
For international, Seoul, Osaka, Bangkok, Taipei and Kuala Lumpur are the most booked destinations.

AirAsia is increasing its weekly flight frequency to Caticlan (35x), Tagbilaran (21x), Puerto Princesa (28x), Cebu (42x), Bacolod (21x), Cagayan (22x), Davao (24x), Iloilo (28x), Kalibo (21x), Tacloban (35x), Zamboanga (7x), and Roxas (3x).
Weekly flights out of the Cebu hub meanwhile will also be ramped up with Cagayan (4x), Davao (4x), and Caticlan (7x). Flights from Clark to Caticlan will remain at 4x weekly.
In addition, Filipinos can continue to visit international destinations -- Seoul with 7x weekly flights from Manila and 3x from Cebu; Kota Kinabalu (7x); Bangkok - via Don Mueang International Airport (7x); Denpasar (7x); Kuala Lumpur (7x); Singapore (4x); and HongKong (1x) via NAIA Terminal 3. AirAsia Philippines is also set to reopen its Taipei, Taiwan and Osaka, Japan flights next month.
