Travel Advisory: Limited accessibility to Osaka Kansai International Airport during 2019 G20 Summit
OSAKA, 29 May 2019 - Restrictions to access will be placed on Kansai International Airport (KIX) during the 2019 G20 Summit taking place in Osaka from 27-30 June 2019.
Guests travelling during this period are strongly urged to commute by train and to allow additional travel time to the airport due to highway traffic restrictions and limited access to the airport bridge, which will result in limited to no accessibility for public taxis, buses and limousines.
In addition, security measures at the airport will be tightened during this period. Police officers will be stationed at all entry points of the airport and travellers are expected to show valid travel documents, including flight itinerary or boarding pass, to enter.
All guests are advised to check in online via airasia.com or the AirAsia mobile app and to carry printed boarding passes with them to the airport. Web and mobile check-in are available from 14 days to 4 hours before flight departure. Guests are also encouraged to be at the airport at least 3 hours before their flight to allow sufficient time for travel formalities.
