AirAsia X Thailand Launches Bangkok-Tianjin, Travel to the Metropolis of 2 Cultures from Only THB 2,590 one way

Bangkok, 8 March 2019 - AirAsia X Thailand (flight code XJ) is launching a direct flight to China flying Bangkok (Don Mueang) – Tianjin 4 times a week (Tuesday/Thursday/Friday/Sunday) starting 3 May 2019 with a promotional fare from only THB 2,590 one way. Book today (8 March 2019) until 24 March 2019 for travel from 3 May 2019 to 26 October 2019.

Nadda Buranasiri, Group Chief Executive Officer of AirAsia X and CEO of AirAsia X Thailand, said the carrier is continuing to expand its network this year with its latest addition to be direct flight to China Bangkok-Tianjin, which is expected to be well received by tourists and business travellers alike due to the city being a key port in China’s north and a metropolis mixing European and traditional Chinese architecture.

“Tianjin is China’s second largest city and is a logical extension for AirAsia X Thailand after Shanghai. Apart from being a travel-worthy place, Tianjin is also a gateway to Beijing and a crossroad of tourism, trade and investment,” Nadda added.

Tianjin is one of four metropolises in China, a major port and a hub of trade and investment for the country’s northern region. Skyscrapers featuring modern designs fill the city and stand alongside European style structures such as the always hip Tianjin Binhai Library and its riverside landmark the Tianjin Eye.

At the same time, Tianjin has maintained its Chinese charms and status as an ancient Chinese waypoint. Visitors will be able to learn much about Chinese culture, pick up authentic Chinese products and enjoy delicious cuisine. Moreover, the city provides convenient access to the wondrous Great Wall of China.

From Tianjin, tourists can easily travel onward to the famed Beijing, which is only 30 minutes away by bullet train.

AirAsia X Thailand is introducing the new route with a promotional fare starting from only THB 2,590 one way. Book today (8 March 2019) to 24 March 2019 for travel from 3 May 2019 to 26 October 2019 at www.airasia.com and all other ticketing channels.
