AirAsia gives discounts to Philippine government workers

AirAsia inks Government Fares Agreement with PS-DBM

MANILA, May 2, 2018 - AirAsia, the World’s Best Low Cost Carrier, today signed a Government Fares Agreement (GFA) with the Procurement Service - Department of Budget and Management (PS-DBM), giving government workers discounted rates and exclusive privileges on official trips.

Under the GFA, AirAsia will provide discounted airfares to all official government domestic flights and other exclusive privileges such as free web admin fee, complimentary 20-kilogram baggage for Corporate Full fares, rebooking fees at no cost on selected packages and bundled services and much more.

Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Secretary Benjamin E. Diokno said, “As government officials, it is our duty to get the most out of the limited public resources entrusted to us. The GFA is a step towards getting the highest value for the hard-earned money of our Filipino taxpayers. Being an initiative of the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) and the Procurement Service (PS), it seeks to limit costs and secure savings in the procurement of air transport needs of all government employees for their official trips.”

All airline transactions will be made online via Procurement Service website giving government offices instant access and the privilege to book with ease through Online Travel Reservation Portal connected to airasia.com now available for booking effective May 2, 2018. PS-PhilGEPS is an attached agency of the DBM.

DBM Secretary Benjamin Diokno graced the signing ceremony with AirAsia Philippines CEO Captain Dexter Comendador, AirAsia Philippines Commercial Director Gilberto Simpao, AirAsia Philippines Chief Finance Officer Jose Leandro Ramos and PS-PhilGEPS Executive Director Bingle Gutierrez.
